To receive a notificationnotifications, a user or group must subscribe to that notification type from a particular source. For example, you may want to create a subscription that notifies all Administrators via private message when something has been added to the Continua Event Log:

Group

Members of the group will receive the notification, provided that they have an email or XMPP address specified, and so long as they don't have a user-level subscription for the same notification type.

Source

The entity that the notification is about. The notifications types available depend  on the type of the source that you select.

Notification Types

The types of notification you wish to receive. You may select multiple types.

Publisher

The method that is used to send the notification: Email, XMPP or Private Message. You may need to configure the Publishers before they can be used.

 

Group and User subscriptions

subscription must be set up describing which notification types a publisher should send to whom.

Administrators can set up Group and Room Subscriptions, which can be sent to a group of users or, for some publishers, to a general area such as room or channel.

Users can set up individual User Subscriptions to be sent to their own user account as specified in User Preferences.


Children Display
Subscriptions for groups can be created in the Administration area. Users can also create their own subscriptions in their User Profile. User-level subscriptions for the same notification type will override group-level subscriptions.
